Hello from First Class,

As you can see from the pictures below, we have been getting up to all sorts of fun in the past few weeks.

First Class would like to wish everyone all the best this Christmas and we hope that you have a very Happy New Year. Enjoy the Holidays and we will see you all in 2012.

In November everybody made stained glass candles for someone that has gone up to heaven. We remembered them by making the candles and saying prayers for them every day.

We experimented with floating also this term. In groups, we placed different items into a basin of water to see if they would float or sink. We estimated first and were pleasantly surprised with what we discovered.

This year, First Class played the part of Angels in the Christmas Show. Everyone wore white with gold tinsel for Halo’s on their heads. As part of our art class, we made wings out of paper plates and painted them gold. Our song was called ‘Can you hear the sound of Christmas’. We all had a great time learning the song and actions to accompany it.

For one of our most recent art projects, we created Penguins out of paper plates. We painted the plates added a colourful winter hat and feet and we stuck on cotton wool for the penguin’s tummy. We then painted a blue background and hung everyone’s penguins on the background. You may have seen it on display recently at the Christmas Fair.

First Class

We're in first class this year. We've grown over the summer. We dressed up for Red Day to support our team in Croke Park. It was great to win the All Ireland!
