Today, our Junior Infants were delighted to welcome a very special visitor, Ms. Hodnett, who is Conn's mum, along with Conn’s new baby brother, Tom! 🍼 The children have been learning about human growth and development this term, focusing particularly on how babies are born and nurtured so this was a wonderful opportunity to consolidate their learning.
Ms. Hodnett shared great insights about what babies need to grow and develop healthily once they are born. The children learned that just like them, babies need plenty of love and attention❤️. They were particularly interested to find out that babies require regular feeding 🍼, even in the middle of the night!
We had great fun listening to Ms. Hodnett’s description of changing baby Tom’s nappies and we even learned what a "Poonami" was! 😂 We learned about the importance of keeping babies clean and warm through careful bathing and dressing.
The children were captivated by baby Tom, observing his reactions and movements. They asked many thoughtful questions, showing their curiosity and empathy towards the needs of a new-born baby. 👶
We thank Ms. Hodnett for her time and for sharing her and baby Tom’s morning with us, providing a practical understanding of our learning. It was a memorable day for our Junior Infants. Míle buíochas Ms. Hodnett!
