As part of our World Book Week celebrations, we were delighted to host a 'Buddy Reading' activity, designed to foster a love for reading and build a supportive school community where older pupils mentor the younger ones.
During the event, our Junior Infants paired up with their buddies from 3rd class, in the basketball court. The children really enjoyed meeting their new buddies and the opportunity to dive into books together. 3rd class pupils showed great leadership and patience, while the younger ones brought curiosity and enthusiasm to the session.
This activity was a wonderful success, and we are proud to see our pupils exhibit such joy and cooperation during World Book Week. As the weather improves, we look forward to making this an ongoing practice between these classes, fostering a lifelong love for reading in all our pupils.
